If you live in a warm climate or you are making your way through summer, you may be familiar with the challenge of deciding on what to have for breakfast. Finding something without warming you up and weighing down, supplying nutrients and energy but still light and refreshing.. well, this Peanut Butter Power-Up Protein Smoothie is going to be your next go-to smoothie. It's complete with caffeine (optional) and protein, and it's sure to be a real crowd please - IF you decide to share!

This is sure to become your new favorite post-workout treat so be sure to use whatever protein powder, milk, and nut butter you like. This is a great base smoothie, too, if you're just starting out on the smoothie train or if you've found yourself in a breakfast rut as well as great way to use up some lingering fruit & veggies. We have found this to be best blended with ice and enjoyed that same day, but we gave it a 24-hr window and was still pleased.

We hope you enjoy this as much as we do - pretty sure this is the real reason we have a NutriBullet blender because we make these on the daily.


What you'll need

Peanut Butter Protein Power-Up Smoothie Bowl
Make it a smoothie bowl, too!

1 Banana

1/4-1/3 cup Peanut Butter

1 tbsp Chia seeds

1-2 scoops Hemp protein powder

1 Shot - Espresso/strong Coffee (optional)

Milk of choice

Handful ice

Only One step to Amazing

Toss everything in the blender - including anything extra you may want to boost your smoothie, & blend.

*Optional add-ins: raspberries, spinach, maca root, cacao nibs or powder, agave or honey for sweetness,

So simple, yet SO GOOD.

One of the main reasons we love this recipe so much and why it has become a staple both in our home and on our menu is because it's a truly versatile piece of culinary art. Simple, yet sophisticated. I often equate it to a frittata or a quiche, a stir fry or a scramble - use what you have and what you like. It's also a great tool to help get yourself (back) on track with your health and fitness goals. It's also a great way to keep yourself and your kiddos satisfied when you need a quick meal or a healthy snack.
